Back From DC

So I realize that this is a few days late, but I wanted to let you all know that I did return safely from my excursion east. It was a quick trip but it was fun nonetheless. I am having a stint of writers block as I have not found much interesting to write on.

Well here is something that is in the news.

Congress is/has grilled the "Big Three" execs for flying their private jets to Washington to ask for money. I think that this is pretty ironic and I must say that I fully see congress' opinion and I fully agree. I don't think that we should be handing out money to anybody to pull them out of a hard spot. Tons of businesses shut their doors each year and the government isn't their helping. And they should not help. This is a capitalistic society and it should stay that way.

An Honorable Interview

Today I read a very nice interview. I believe anybody would agree that this was a very humble and honorable thing to do. And who was this an interview of? None other than George W. Bush.

George Bush will likely go down in the history books as one of the most debated presidents of our time. And with good reason. But today I read an interview on CNN that just gave me warm fuzzies all over and made me remember that this man, while probably not the best President, is a good man.

In this interview he came right out and said that he had made mistakes in his presidency and that he had certainly said things that he should not have. He referred to the comments of wanting Bin Laden "Dead or Alive" and telling the Iraqi insurgents to "bring it on" and how these may have sent the wrong message to the people. He also goes on to say that he regrets speaking in front of the ""Mission Accomplished" banner saying that it also sent the wrong message.
So after this heated administration, what does President Bush have in store? Well according to him he is going to head back to Texas and maybe write a book. Which, if that happens, I will definitely be sure to buy.

So President Bush, enjoy your retirement and even though you may not have been our favorite; I still thank and commend you for your service to our country.

On The Road In a Few Days (and an update on our trip to Hell)

November 14th is approaching and you may be wondering, "What the heck is November 14th??" Well ladies and gents, it is time for a wedding.
This will be my second wedding this year and my first trip out of state in quite some time. I will be heading to our nation's capitol for a couple of days to see my cousin tie the knot. Well I will be across the river from the capitol, but nevertheless I will be in DC at least for a few hours. So I will keep my eyes open and ear to the ground for any of our national powerhouses, and of course I will be sure snap photos accordingly!

Now for the update on the Americans people trip to Hell in a handbasket:
DSL has laid of 9500 people, Circuit City filed for bankruptcy, Miriam Makeba died on stage, and Bush's approval rating hit an all time low (go figure).
But the ray of sunshine is gas is 1.82 in Indiana according to Brian Rosenberg. So you better fill up.

So all my friends you have yourself a safe week. Lock your car doors and don't go outside. The real world will get you.
But in all honesty, a stone cube with a message on the side told me, "Keep your head going in the right direction and your feet will surely follow." And a wise father of mine told me, "Keep your head up and eyes straight ahead and nobody will mess with you."

Congratulations

I would like to congratulate President Obama on his recent election. I personally did not support him throughout his campaign but I still cannot help but feel a sense of excitement as these next four years come and go.

I sincerely do hope that President Obama does cause some change in this nation, no matter what it be.

So President Obama, good luck to you sir. I truly am rooting for you.

Tomorrow

So I read a fellow bloggers post, who also happens to be a friend from an earlier time, and I decided to do a post based on you know... tomorrow.

Tomorrow is in fact the big day.

No matter who you vote for there is going to be change. I think that some people who are voting in their first presidential election, like myself, are really voting based on who is in office now. I do not approve of President Bush's administration and I agree it has been a rough few years. But I do not believe that John McCain is President Bush. Yes he may have voted with Bush on 95% of his policy but still, they are not the same person.

I think that regardless of who is elected there will be major change in the White House. My only concern is where we will be in 4 years when whoever gets elected is done with their first term. But we are all going to Hell in a hand basket, don't you know.

I guess what I would like to say to the people on the internet is that I hope you make an informed decision and you just don't vote solely on the letter "D" or "R" following a candidates name.

New Format

So I have decided to take this in a new direction.
